Description

Traditional hornos slowly roast the agave for Arriesgado Añejo. Hand crushing follows before fermentation, continuing the production methods used across the Arriesgado range. Made under NOM 1459, the tequila spends 16 months in American oak barrels. It is bottled at 45% ABV and pours deep amber with copper highlights.

Vanilla bean and toasted oak lead the nose, with sweet cooked agave and woodfire smoke behind them. Vanilla and dark caramel develop on the palate. Dried fruit and baking spice follow, while smoky earthiness runs through the agave. The finish is long and warm, carrying persistent oak spice, vanilla and woodsmoke.

Start with a neat pour at room temperature. A few drops of water open the aromas and soften the spice. A single large ice cube brings vanilla and caramel forward as the tequila cools.

How to drink

Neat: Pour at room temperature to experience the full interplay of American oak, ancestral smoke, and cooked agave sweetness.

With a Drop of Water: A few drops open the nose and soften the spice without losing the smoky depth.

On the Rocks: A single large cube tempers the tannins and makes the vanilla and caramel more immediately expressive.

Tequila Old Fashioned: Stir with a sugar cube and a dash of bitters over a large ice cube for a spirit-forward cocktail that honors the oak character.

Pair With: Dark chocolate, aged manchego or cotija, or grilled carne asada all echo the smoky, spiced profile.
