Loco Tequila Blanco Puro Corazón

Loco produces Puro Corazón in Jalisco, Mexico. The name means pure heart, referring to the corazón, or heart cut, of tequila distillation. Made in small quantities, this blanco centers on roasted agave character. It is bottled at 40% ABV and pours clear with silver highlights.

Cooked agave and fresh lime rise first, with green herbs and a suggestion of wet stone. The palate carries the gentle sweetness of roasted piña, sharpened by citrus zest. Soft white pepper moves through a clean mineral background. Warm agave and lingering pepper give the finish its length without crowding the other flavors.

Serve at room temperature in a snifter and allow a few minutes to open. A few drops of spring water soften the pepper. Alternatively, pour lightly chilled into a copita with sangrita alongside.
