Description

Near their mountain distillery in Lachigui, Pedro Vasquez and his family harvest wild agaves for their mezcal. This part of the Miahuatlán district is home to their work with Coyote, an Agave americana variety that can take up to 16 years to mature. El Jolgorio includes their Coyote mezcal in its Special Release series.

Earthy and herbal aromas come first, followed by roasted agave, wildflowers and a trace of minerals. Agave sweetness carries the palate. Roasted pineapple and subtle citrus sit alongside layers of smoke. The texture is silky and rounded. A long, warming finish leaves delicate spice that fades gradually.

Take it neat in a traditional mezcal glass, sipping slowly. It can also form the base of a Mezcal Old Fashioned with a little agave nectar.
