Description
Don Julio twice distills this tequila, then ages it for 18 months in American white oak. Charcoal filtration follows, creating a clear appearance while retaining añejo character. This limited Día de Muertos edition was created in collaboration with designer Willy Chavarria. The bottle design honors the Mexican celebration, while the tequila is bottled at 40% ABV.
Vanilla and honey appear on the nose with a light note of toasted oak. Those flavors continue on the palate, where the sweet notes sit against the wood. The texture is smooth. A clean, warm finish leaves a trace of oak that fades gradually.
Serve neat or over ice. An orange peel twist is a suggested garnish. Pair with mole, carnitas or a chocolate dessert, or use it in a Margarita.
