Description

Don Julio twice distills this tequila, then ages it for 18 months in American white oak. Charcoal filtration follows, creating a clear appearance while retaining añejo character. This limited Día de Muertos edition was created in collaboration with designer Willy Chavarria. The bottle design honors the Mexican celebration, while the tequila is bottled at 40% ABV.

Vanilla and honey appear on the nose with a light note of toasted oak. Those flavors continue on the palate, where the sweet notes sit against the wood. The texture is smooth. A clean, warm finish leaves a trace of oak that fades gradually.

Serve neat or over ice. An orange peel twist is a suggested garnish. Pair with mole, carnitas or a chocolate dessert, or use it in a Margarita.

How to drink

Don Julio 70th Dia de Muertos Cristalino Añejo Tequila is best enjoyed neat or on the rocks to fully appreciate its complex flavors and smooth character. For a festive touch, consider serving it in a crystal glass with a twist of orange peel to enhance its aromatic profile. It also pairs exquisitely with traditional Mexican dishes such as mole, carnitas, or a rich, chocolatey dessert to honor the Dia de Muertos celebration.

For a creative cocktail, try mixing it with a splash of high-quality soda water and a dash of bitters, garnished with a slice of grapefruit. This simple yet sophisticated cocktail highlights the tequila's smooth and versatile nature, making it a perfect choice for both casual sipping and special occasions.
