Description

In the Mixe region of southern Mexico, the village of Santo Domingo Albarradas gives this Del Maguey mezcal its origin. Artisanal production connects the liquid to the area's agave culture and its makers. The village remains the point of reference, with citrus and tropical fruit shaping much of the tasting.

The nose is light and bright, carrying lemon, lime and grapefruit. Roasted pear adds a softer sweetness beneath the citrus. Pineapple, guava and mango come forward on the palate. Subtle spice and woody notes follow, adding earthy detail around the fruit. The finish turns clean and dry after that tropical opening.

Pour neat into a copita or snifter and take time with the aromas. In cocktails, use it in place of tequila in a Margarita or Paloma to explore its tropical fruit character.
