Description

Clase Azul Día de Muertos Trascender 2026 opens a new chapter in Clase Azul's annual Day of the Dead releases. With the five-year Nuestros Recuerdos series (2021–2025) complete, Trascender is the first edition conceived as a standalone creation, inspired by the Día de Muertos belief that life does not end but transforms, and by the soul's journey toward the sun.

Master Distiller Viridiana Tinoco blends two añejo tequilas, each aged more than 30 months: one finished in casks previously used to ferment wine destined for Champagne, the other aged in American whiskey casks. It is bottled at 40% ABV in a one-liter ceramic decanter, individually hand-painted by Clase Azul's artisans, with a glaze that shifts from deep blue to magenta, a floral base hiding tiny skulls, two marigolds and 24-karat gold brushstrokes. Only 10,000 decanters were made worldwide.

Tasting notes
Nose
Pear compote, ripe apple, peach, honey, sourdough bread, toasted oak
Palate
Silky, ripe pear, agave nectar, cacao nibs, toasted walnut, bright acidity
Finish
Warm, delicate spice

• Aromas of pear compote, ripe apple and peach, with honey, sourdough bread and toasted oak.

• Silky, rounded palate of ripe pear, agave nectar, cacao nibs and toasted walnut, lifted by a touch of bright acidity.

• Full-bodied, with a long, warm finish and delicate spice.

How to drink

• Best enjoyed neat in a tulip-shaped glass with a wide bowl.

• Let it rest in the glass a few minutes so the Champagne-cask notes of walnut and fresh bread open up.

• Pairs beautifully with dark chocolate, roasted nuts or mole.

• A centerpiece for Clase Azul collectors: display it alongside earlier Día de Muertos decanters.
