Description

Cascahuín Añejo Tequila is available at Agave Vault, your destination for fine spirits with fast, reliable delivery. Bottled at 44% ABV (88 proof) and certified additive free, this añejo brings more than a year of American oak aging to Cascahuín's famously agave-forward, mineral-driven house style.

Produced at Destilería Cascahuín (NOM 1123) in El Arenal, Jalisco — a family-owned distillery founded in 1904 — the añejo is made from 100% Blue Weber agave slow-cooked in brick ovens, fermented with native yeasts and double distilled in copper pot stills. The spirit then rests in American oak barrels for over a year, picking up vanilla, toasted wood and dried fruit while keeping the cooked agave firmly in front. The higher proof keeps the finish long and dry rather than sweet.

Sip Cascahuín Añejo neat or over a single large cube, or build an agave-forward Old Fashioned around it. Shop Cascahuín Añejo Tequila at Agave Vault and explore our full tequila and mezcal collection from traditional and artisan producers across Mexico.

Tasting notes
Nose
Cooked agave, toasted oak, vanilla, dried apricot, cinnamon, wet stone
Palate
Baked agave, caramelized oak, dark chocolate, dried fruit, baking spice
Finish
Drying oak, black pepper, cooked agave, vanilla

Nose

Cooked agave and toasted oak lead, with vanilla, dried apricot, cinnamon and the wet-stone minerality that runs through every Cascahuín release.

Palate

Silky on entry, then noticeably dry: baked agave, caramelized oak, dark chocolate, dried fruit and baking spice over an earthy, mineral backbone, with a peppery lift from the 44% strength.

Finish

Long and warming. Drying oak and black pepper linger over cooked agave and vanilla.

How to drink
  1. Neat: Pour 2 oz into a copita or Glencairn and let it sit for a minute so the oak and agave open up.
  2. On a large cube: One big clear cube in a rocks glass tames the 88 proof without washing out the agave.
  3. Añejo Old Fashioned: Stir 2 oz Cascahuín Añejo with a bar spoon of agave nectar and 2 dashes of mole or Angostura bitters over ice. Strain over a large cube and finish with an orange twist.
  4. Pairing: Dark chocolate, grilled steak or a cigar all stand up to its dry oak and spice.
