Description

At NOM 1599 in Valle de Tequila, Jalisco, the Landeros Family distillery works with 100% Tequilana Weber blue agave for Valor Reposado. The spirit is double-distilled in stainless steel pot stills. Four months in American white oak bourbon barrels follow. Bottled at 42% ABV, it is additive-free. Valor is woman-owned and directs a portion of proceeds toward community programs.

Green apple gives the nose a crisp opening. Cinnamon, mint and mineral notes follow. On the palate, sweet agave meets spice and fresh herbs. Apple remains restrained, while the bourbon barrels contribute a little sweetness. The finish turns dry and clean, leaving herbal warmth rather than a heavy oak impression.

Serve at room temperature in a tequila tasting glass. A few drops of water bring the mint and minerals forward. For a chilled pour, use a single large ice cube.

Neat: Pour into a tequila tasting glass at room temperature to let the agave and barrel notes open fully.

With a Drop of Water: A few drops of room-temperature water brighten the mint and mineral notes on the nose.

On the Rocks: Serve over a single large ice cube to gently chill while preserving the herbal and spice character.

Cocktails: Works well in a Tommy's Margarita or Paloma, where the dry herbal finish holds up against citrus and sweetener.
