Description

In the highlands of Jalisco, Tequila Ocho makes this extra añejo from agave harvested in 2021. Aging lasts more than three years in exhausted white oak barrels. That extended maturation brings oak into conversation with the agave. The tequila has a deep amber color, followed by a broad range of sweet and savory notes.

Caramel, vanilla and ripe agave open the nose. Oak, baking spice and earthy pepper follow. The silky palate carries toffee, custard and roasted agave, with dried fruit, cacao and a fine thread of spice. Toasted oak and light nuttiness add detail. The long finish leaves oak, pepper and earthy warmth.

Serve neat in a snifter or Glencairn glass. Take small, slow sips. Dark chocolate, dried fruit or aged cheese can accompany the pour.
