Description

Released in 2021 as the first Padre Azul Limited Artist Edition, this bottle carries original artwork by Mexican artist José Parra of Guadalajara: a Calavera Catrina rendered in candlelight in tribute to Día de los Muertos. The design wraps the bottle in a printed leather jacket and is finished with a silver skull-shaped stopper, turning the packaging itself into a piece of collectible art tied to the celebration it honors.

Inside is Padre Azul Añejo, distilled from 100% blue Weber agave at NOM 1466, Tequila Tres Mujeres, in Amatitán, Jalisco, and aged 18 months in hand-selected ex-bourbon oak. The extended rest gives it an amber color and a profile built on vanilla and cooked agave layered with bourbon oak on the nose, moving into vanilla, chocolate, and caramelized nuts with cinnamon on the palate, and finishing rich and sweet with a lingering dry oak note.

As a first-edition artist release, this bottle appeals as much to collectors and tequila enthusiasts as it does to anyone drinking it neat — pair it with other limited and artist-collaboration bottlings in the Agave Vault añejo and reposado selection. Ships to most US states. Adult-signature required at delivery.

How to drink

Neat: Pour at room temperature in a tequila glass to let the vanilla, oak, and cinnamon notes fully open up.

On the Rocks: Serve over a large ice cube to soften the oak and stretch out the finish.

With a Drop of Water: Add a few drops of still water to loosen the aromatics and bring the cooked agave forward.

Cocktails: Use it as the base for an Añejo Old Fashioned in place of whiskey, letting its bourbon-oak character carry the drink.

Pair With: Serve alongside dark chocolate or a cinnamon-spiced dessert to echo the tequila's own flavors.
