Description

Los Siete Misterios makes Doba Yej from 100% Espadín agave in Oaxaca. Milling uses a horse-drawn tahona, followed by distillation in copper stills. Batches may come from Yautepec, Santiago Matatlán, San Dionisio or San Luis del Rio. Their regional origins can bring slight differences from one batch to another.

Green apple, citrus zest and fresh agave lead the nose, with campfire smoke and earthy minerals beneath. Roasted agave and ripe fruit fill the palate. Subtle herbs, delicate smoke, pepper and minerality balance the sweetness. The lasting finish is clean and lightly smoky, leaving agave sweetness and pepper.

Serve neat in a clay copita or small glass. Pair with orange and sal de gusano, or lightly salted dark chocolate. For cocktails, try a Mezcal Negroni or Mezcal Margarita.
