Don Francisco Javier Sauza introduced Hornitos in 1950 as a tribute to Mexican Independence Day. From Tequila, Jalisco, the producer takes its name from the little ovens traditionally used to roast agave. Plata is an unaged tequila, clear in the glass and bottled at 40% ABV. Its character keeps agave sweetness at the center of the tasting.

The nose combines herbal and earthy notes with citrus and fresh-cut grass. A touch of sweet agave runs through those aromas. On the palate, agave sweetness meets light pepper and more citrus. The texture is smooth, with a clean character that carries the fruit and spice together.
