Description
Blue Weber agave from the Jalisco highlands forms the base of Don Julio Añejo. The tequila spends 18 months in American white oak barrels, developing a mellow richness around the plant's sweetness. Produced in Mexico, it is bottled at 40% ABV, or 80 proof.
Lime, grapefruit and mandarin bring citrus to the nose, with caramel and subtle vanilla alongside. The palate is full-bodied, carrying cooked agave and earthy sweetness into wild honey and oak-led butterscotch. The finish takes a brighter turn. Light spice balances the lingering honey, keeping the barrel richness connected to the citrus opening.
Serve neat in a snifter or small stemmed glass and sip slowly. Over ice, the tequila becomes cooler and more diluted. A Margarita or Paloma offers another way to work with its agave and citrus character.
