Description

Cuishe, a slender-stalked variety of Agave karwinskii, gives this Divino Maguey its identity. Made in Oaxaca, Mexico, it carries the certified Mezcal Artesanal designation. The spirit is bottled joven, without aging, keeping the agave's character central. At 47% ABV, the clear mezcal brings an earthy, mineral emphasis to the glass.

Roasted agave and wet stone form the base of the nose. Green herbs and citrus peel rise above them, with a small trace of smoke. The palate follows with vegetal agave, lime zest, and cracked pepper over earthy minerals. A long, warming finish leaves minerality, soft smoke, and pepper behind.

Sip at room temperature from a copita or veladora. A few drops of water soften the strength and open the herbal and citrus notes. Orange slices dusted with sal de gusano make a serving companion.

  • Finish: Long and warming with lingering minerality, gentle smoke, and peppery spice
How to drink

Neat: Sip slowly from a copita or veladora at room temperature to let the roasted agave and mineral notes unfold.

With a Drop of Water: A few drops of water tames the higher strength and opens up the herbal and citrus layers.

With Orange and Sal de Gusano: Serve the traditional Oaxacan way alongside orange slices dusted with sal de gusano.

Cocktails: Swap it into a Mezcal Negroni or Oaxaca Old Fashioned where its earthy backbone can stand up to bold mixers.

Pair With: Match with grilled meats, mole, tacos al pastor, or aged cheeses that echo its smoky, earthy side.
