Description

Wild-harvested Texas sotol plants are the starting point for Desert Door. Crafted in Driftwood, Texas, the spirit uses just three ingredients: those plants, purified water and organic yeast. The producer takes a minimal approach to a spirit rooted in the Texas desert. It is bottled at 40% ABV.

Clear in the glass, the sotol has a fresh, earthy nose with grassy and herbal notes. A faint suggestion of smoke may appear alongside them. Herbal and vegetal flavors carry onto the palate, joined by citrus. The finish is clean and crisp, following the mix of earthiness and fresh green flavors.

Try it neat, taking time between sips. It also works as the base for a Sotol Paloma. At the table, serve alongside Texan or Mexican cuisine.
