Description

Demi Alteña Blanco Half Proof Tequila is a 20% ABV tequila specialty from the founders of Quarter Proof: 100% blue agave from the Los Altos highlands of Jalisco, twice roasted and traditionally fermented, blended with a custom-distilled 99% blue agave spirit liqueur carrying lime, botanicals and a touch of sweetness. Half the proof of a standard blanco, with the cooked-agave character intact.

Bright and highland-fresh, it is made for the Margarita, the Paloma and a chilled shot, and lets the second round happen without the second-round regret. 750 ml, 40 proof.

Palate: Bright and gently sweet, with roasted agave, citrus and soft pepper at half the usual proof, so there is no burn.

Finish: Clean, lime-fresh and short, with a lingering touch of agave sweetness.
How to drink

Demi Margarita: Shake 3 oz with 1 oz fresh lime and 1/2 oz orange liqueur or agave syrup, strain over ice with a salted rim. Half the proof, so the second one is a reasonable decision.

Paloma: Tall, over ice, with grapefruit soda and a squeeze of lime.

Ranch water: With sparkling mineral water and lime.

Chilled shot: Straight from the freezer with a lime wedge.
