Description
Seven years in American oak begin Califino's extra añejo aging process. A further year in a French Cognac barrel follows, bringing the total maturation to eight years. These two stages define the producer's approach to this aged tequila. In the glass, it has a deep, dark wood color.
Toasted oak and sweet caramel introduce the nose. Both carry into the palate, where a subtle chocolate note adds another detail to the oak and sweetness. The body is full and warm. A velvety texture gives weight to the caramel and chocolate, while oak remains a prominent part of the flavor.
Pour neat into a snifter or tequila glass. Serve at room temperature and take your time between sips, returning to the toasted oak and caramel aromas as you taste.
